Hilton Garden Inn Charlotte/Ayrsley

We were a bit disappointed with our stay, the room itself was fine, bathroom was small and outdated. Pool was a lot smaller than expected but hot tub was nice and we appreciated they were both in working order. Biggest negative was that there was a party downstairs with very loud music and despite us calling down to ask them to get them to turn down the loud music/base it continued till very late.

This hotel itself is in a great location. You can walk to several restaurants very easily. A bar in the lobby, a well stocked snack shop, and the restaurant make it so you don’t have to leave the hotel at night if you choose not to. Service was great, every employee was friendly. There was a woman who appeared to be homeless, as mentioned by reviewer, who hung out in the lobby every day but she didn’t bother anyone. Rooms were clean and well-appointed, but lacking on many of the small details. Our room had an unusual amount of moisture in the bathroom and a mildew smell. There was no fan to mitigate the excess moisture. Chunks of the bathroom door were missing. The room appeared to have new carpet which may have been the source of the strange smell throughout our 2 night stay. The hallways and room just seemed to have an extraordinary amount of moisture than normal. I might stay again if required but will likely look elsewhere as the value for the money paid is not there. Spouse has stayed multiple times at this location and reports that rooms always seem to be in state of remodeling/maintenance.

I attended a 2-day conference at this hotel, but did not spend the night here. The review is based on the experience I had with the staff and the meeting room. Pros, the meeting room was very comfortable and the location was excellent! Several places to grab a bite to eat nearby. Cons: the bathrooms outside the meeting room was constantly out of essential items like TP and paper towels. When I brought it to the attention of the front desk, they brushed it off and said it was being taken care of. An hour later when I used the bathroom again, there was still no paper towels. The front lobby area was full of debris and leaves. When I saw the piles on day 1, I thought housekeeping would be back to clean it up. However, when I returned for day 2, the same exact pile was in the same spot. There was a piece of debris that was consistent both days that lead me to believe the piles weren’t cleaned up overnight.

Our room was very nice++ Clean. Comfortable. Lots of lovely toiletries & towels. The young lady who we first met at the desk , 3pm ish was snobby. She said she would call when a room was ready but didnt smile or make eye contact with us. We went for a walk & when we returned ( without a phone call) she was gone and a lovely new and courteous woman was on duty. Breakfast was fantastic. All good. Definitely recommend.

The room was perfectly clean. Staff was helpful and friendly. My only issue was the pool/hot tub. The pool was very muggy to where it looked dirty. The hot tub had too much chemicals in it to where it felt like it was burning your skin. We set aside a plan to have a relaxing day at the pool during our stay and that plan was quickly canceled after seeing/experiencing the condition of both. They do charge an incidental fee of $50 per night. Which I felt was pricey for this hotel. Still waiting for that charge to fall off my bank account (we’re on day 3 after check out)
